I want to share the same spirit I have to unite people from all around the world by lighting the Olympic Flame at the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics with other children. 

In Montreal, Canada, at the 1976 Olympics, two Canadian teenagers lit the flame together. One was from the French part of the country, the other from the English part.  By lighting the flame together, they showed the unity of their country despite language differences. The spirit of the Olympics is to unite the world and  build friendships. I want not only to set the flame afire, but also people’s hopes. I’d like to unite people everywhere in the world  to spread the ideals of “higher, farther and stronger”. 

 I suggest the Beijing Games invite one child from every country in the world to light the Olympic flame of hope together. And I''d like to be one of them.

I believe the shining light of the Olympic flame can brighten everyone’s heart and provide warmth for the world.

在北京奥运会的开幕仪式上，我想通过和其他孩子一起点燃奥运圣火，在全世界传播团结友爱的精神。

在1976加拿大蒙特利尔奥运会上，两名加拿大少年共同点燃了圣火。其中一个少年来自加拿大说法语的地区，另一个则来自说英语的地区。他们牵手点燃圣火，向世人表明：在加拿大，尽管存在语言的差异，但是他们的国家是团结统一的。奥运的精神就是建立友爱、创建和谐世界。我不仅想让圣火熊熊燃烧，更想让圣火点燃人们心中的希望。全世界的人民团结起来，让我们一起传播“更高、更远、更强”的精神。

我建议北京奥委会从每个国家选出一个儿童，让他们一起来点燃2008北京奥运会的圣火。而我想代表中国的孩子去完成这一神圣的使命。

我坚信奥运圣火的光芒能把每一个人的心灵照亮，将温暖撒向世界……
